Feel like bird watching in the famous Olango Island Bird Sanctuary? Then, Cebu White Sands at Maribago Beach has the trip reserved for you! Olango Island is known as the place where migratory birds land from their breeding sites in North China, Siberia and Japan. There, they feed on various food items that can be found in the shores of the island in order to build up their reserves for the next flight of their trip: towards New Zealand and Australia.

Known as the southward migration, this trip is undertaken by birds in anticipation of the winter and the scarcity of food supply that it will bring to them. From late July until late November or early December, the birds fly southwards from their breeding grounds stopping at Olango to “refuel” for the 3000 kilometer to 15000-kilometer trip to their next stops. By February until May, the birds once again fly back to their breeding sites in a northward trip. Again, they temporarily stop by Olango to feed in order to sustain themselves for the next leg of their trip.

Cebu White Sands, through Aqua Sports, charges PHP2000 per person for the whole trip. The tour requires a minimum of 2 persons to push through.

Cebu White Sands also offer an island hopping tour, also for PHP2000 per person. The package is a four-hour island hopping tour, inclusive of picnic lunch at the island destination, as well as one bottle of mineral water per person and waived entrance fee to the island.

In Cebu White Sands at Maribago Beach, you can choose to avail of either their day use rates or their overnight rates. These include rental of their rooms and/or villas for the duration of your stay.The resort is available for use for the whole week, including weekends. However, different rates are charged for day use during regular weekdays and for weekends and legal holidays.

During weekdays, the resort charges a PHP350 entrance per head, including children who are at least 6 years old. Children aged 5 years old and below are free of charge at Cebu White Sands. PHP150 of this entrance is consumable.

On weekends and legal holidays, the charge becomes PHP500 per person, but is inclusive of meals in the Eat-All-You-Can lunch buffet. Drinks are exclusive of the fee.

Room rates for day use are at PHP3000 per room, as long as there are rooms available for usage. The room is good for five occupants, who are allowed free use of the resort’s facilities including the beach, swimming pool, outdoor Jacuzzi and the changing and shower rooms. Meals are exclusive of the rental.

There are four rooms available in the resort, namely the Deluxe Class, Courtyard Villa, Semi-Suite rooms and the Mabuhay Rooms.

For those staying overnight, the Deluxe Class cost PHP5450 per room every night. The Courtyard Villa, on the other hand, cost PHP5950. The Semi-Suite cost PHP6950 and the Mabuhay Room is worth PHP7950. The rates are good for two persons only. Any persons in excess will be charged PHP1500 each, with free breakfast. Children 12 years old and below are free of charge, but without breakfast and extra bed. Guests are allowed to bring a maximum of only two children.

The rooms come with free breakfast and welcome fruit platter. A welcome cocktail drink is also inclusive for each night’s stay in the resort. Guests are also offered a one-way transfer of their choice within Mactan Island. They can choose to be picked up or dropped off anywhere in the island.

Guests are also offered a free one-time, one-hour massage service for one person during their overnight stay at the resort. Of course, guests are allowed free unlimited use of the beach and swimming pool, as well as the Jacuzzi.

The resort grants one night free if guests stay for a minimum of 1 week, but without breakfast.
