I live in an island that boasts not only of picturesque landscapes and well-preserved historical landmarks, but also takes much pride in its people.
I live in Cebu, which I daresay, is not a mere summer destination, but the perfect place to start living an enjoyable life.
Cebu is flanked on all sides by warm pristine waters so anyone in need of a dip or a sniff of the soothing sea breeze can just hop on any mode of transportation that’ll take them to the coasts.
For those who are not much of the beach bods and prefer the cool and serene mountain aura, Cebu also offers scenic hilltop resorts, which are also just quick drives away from the city.
With all these pleasant amenities, one would think that Cebu is just another province. Fortunately, it’s not. Cebu has merited the title of being the Queen City of the South . It features a shipshape international airport, a modern international convention center, two highly profitable export processing zones, and a number of information technology hubs. Aside from being a host to a varied array of flourishing local industries, it has also become home to numerous international firms, including business process outsourcing companies.
Tourists usually come to Cebu every January to participate in the Sinulog, which is a celebration in honor of the holy child Señor Santo Niño. This grand event is only one of the many fiestas celebrated in Cebu, and these other affairs are also worth watching. In addition to the festivities, Cebu sports tourist attractions that are definite must-sees, such as the Lapu-lapu Shrine and the Fort San Pedro. Just recently, Cebu’s dive spots have earned renown from tourists who would love to explore the kaleidoscope world under the sea. And before tourists pack their bags and leave Cebu’s splendor, surely, they make it a point to pack some delicious dried mango treats and bring along a guitar.
